There’s nothing like working with reclaimed wood, It’s texture, colour and tight grain is unbeatable. For those of us who are lucky enough to live around Ottawa, we’re surrounded by history, whether its the old barns and structures that provide the wood or whether its the lumber history of the region. I heard something the other day that had me thinking, if i’m working with a piece of threshing floor, or barnboard that was from a 150 year old barn, the tree that provided the plank likely rooted another 100-150 years before that.
