I just got around to picking up the final plank to start working on a large 4′ x 10′ boardroom table. The table is being built with reclaimed Old Growth Hemlock threshing floor. It’s going to look amazing sitting on top of a custom table frame made from round steel piping.

Saturday, November 19th, 2011I’ve always heard that butternut is a beautiful wood to work with, but until last week i had never really seen any. I came across enough 2″ stock to make a coffee table that will be approximately 18″ wide and 4′ long. I’m going to try something a little different with how it’s all joined, so you’ll have to stay tuned. Here’s a sneak peek at a couple slabs of the wood though…
